The Toy Library is run by Ligdol v'Lifroach Child and Family Services. It is located next to Mercaz Rakefet Child Development Center and is designed for children (aged 0 – 10) with normal play needs as well as those with special needs.
Acquiring play skills is an important part of child development. In our work at Mercaz Rakefet, we see the difference in the progress of children that have suitable toys at home to develop their skills between therapy sessions and those who do not have this opportunity. Many children do not have toys or games at home for various reasons – because there are other priorities, or parents do not know which toys are suitable to their specific needs. In addition, we know that in Bet Shemesh there are many children lacking play opportunities for financial reasons.
How can you and your children help?
When clearing out your games closets for Pesach consider us – we ask that games be in good condition containing all pieces: As a guide:
- Memory games
- Matching games
- Counting games
- Board games
- Puzzles – wooden or cardboard
Please DO NOT send incomplete puzzles, broken boxes, dolls or soft toys.
Where to bring the toys?
There is a clearly marked box near reception at Mercaz Rakefet – 6 Tzeelim, RBS.
Please help to make this a reality – not only to enjoy the service yourself but to benefit others less fortunate.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Wishing you a Chag Kasher v'Sameach
