Management
Ziva Schapiro, OTR -- Founder and Director

Ziva founded Mercaz Rakefet over 10 years ago to initially provide occupational therapy services to local residents. Shortly after formation, it became clear that that parents and children with developmental delays have an acute need for coordinated care among various treatment modalities, kuppot cholim, and the child's teachers. Under Ziva's direction, Merkaz Rakefet has grown to service over 400 children a month in the greater Bet Shemesh area with a staff of over 40 professionals.

In 2005, Ziva and her husband decided to further enhance the range of populations served and the services made available by Mercaz Rakefet and formed Ligdol V'Lifroach, a non for profit Amuta which now manages Mercaz Rakefet. . Ziva oversees all clients at Ligdol V'Lifroach, ensuring full coordination between the child's therapists, parents, and teachers.

Ziva graduated in 1985 from the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center program in Occupational Therapy. She is a member of the AOTA and ISOT and has completed advanced course work in sensory processing, play and management.
